Hot, Sit Down Meals

The Free Hot, Sit Down Meals Program serves a nutritious, several course meal three days a week to the city's financially and/or residentially challenged families twelve months out of the year. What began in 1982 as a Monday night potluck for 50 people now require the talents of over 100 volunteers who come from all over Summit County to serve!

The Free Meals Program utilizes one commercial-grade kitchen, one van, three community dining rooms, and many wonderful volunteers. It all adds up to over 12,500 meals annually, all served in an environment of encouragement and respect.

Hot, tasty, several course meals are prepared under the direction of an outstanding chef who has served at the center for decades so the GSHC clients are truly 'well served'.
