The Open Pantry Program distributes nutritionally balanced bags of food two days per week to the financially and/or residentially challenged of the greater Akron area twelve months out of the year. Each person receiving a bag of food on Tuesday and Friday also receives a 32 oz. to go container of delicious homemade soup made that day by culinary du jour volunteers in the Good Samaritan Hunger Center Kitchen.

The Free Soup Program gives away thousands of bowls of soup annually.

(That's alot of home made soup!).

Friday, 3:30- 4:00 p.m.- Patterson Park.
