Thank you for your interest in Good Samaritan Hunger Center (GSHC).  GSHC was the vision of Sister Jordan Hadad and incorporated as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in May of 1982.  We continue to serve the needs of the hungry in Akron and surrounding communities and at GSHC hunger is not an option.

• GSHC provides nutritious, delicious hot meals & grocery bags of food to community centers in Akron area neighborhoods.  The hot meals are served in a spirit of encouragement & hospitality to anyone who comes.  All are welcome!

• GSHC uses donated & perishable food that might otherwise go to waste. Food donations come from restaurants, grocery stores, food vendors & distributors; commercial & home gardeners, & most importantly, people like you.  Schools, churches, & community groups donate canned & non-perishable food from collection drives.
